I currently own a Merkur Futur and was thinking about purchasing a Mergress. Is there any noticeable difference between the two since they are both adjustable?

Yes, the Mergress shaves more like a traditional DE with a bit of added heft. As you know the Futur has quite a different feel and requires a somewhat different technique. The Mergress is a worthy addition to any rotation, especially if you want to add some additional efficiency to the mix. I shaved with my Futur last night and it remains one of my favorites.
+1 with the Mergress/Progress shaving like a traditional DE. i find it a better razor, overall, with feel, shave, and securing the blade, but YMMV. They are both good razors, though.
The Futur is a lot more aggressive than a Mergress.
Turn the Futur all the way down to 1 (or below if you can) and turn the progress all the way up and you will get a similar shave from both.

Love the Progress/Mergress. I feel it is reasonably aggressive at 2.5 and that's only half way up the scale. I much prefer it to the Futur.
To add to the other posts, I like the way the Mergress drives just a little bit more. I find it a teeny bit easier to get under the nose etc.. because of the top cover's radius. like the other's said, I think both are great razors but variety is the spice of life, right? I'd recommend you give the Mergress a try. They sell quickly if it doesn't click for you.
