Firstly, Id like to say a bit thank you to SCBoch for PIFing me this pre-shave lotion. This post will serve as a warranted review of the lotion and my suggestions for use for others.
When I first received this item, I immediately noticed that the smell was quite strong. To me, perhaps in some ignorance, I thought it smelled very musky like an Aqua Velva after shave splash. Its thin as water too. Its not an oil and not really per se a lotion either. It is the consistency of water. But it smells great and provides a great refreshing feeling when I apply it to my face that really makes me up.
However, when I look for a pre-shave lotion or oil, I really want it to soften my beard whiskers to the point where it makes a blade easily pass through. This pre-shave oil did not do that on its own and really just woke up my face. The beard whiskers werent softened in the way that pre-shave oil typically does and like I said on it own, didnt really do the job.
I did subsequently add unscented oil (jojoba oil) to the pre-shave oil with much more success given that the unscented oil had the softening properties that I enjoy and had the same great scent.
Just a small review about a good (but not great) product and another special thank you to SCBoch for making this PIF happen!
