What's new

Frequent Merkur Users....

Where is the best price for the Merkur HD that you guys have found? I'm asking strictly online places because nothing in my area sells alot of wet shaving stuff. I thought I heard a rumor that somebody got one for $30 new but the cheapest I've found is 34.99. It's gone up? I'll pay it, but I wanna know that's the cheapest price! Thanks folks!

If you don't mind second hand, they pass through the B/S/T pretty frequently. I picked up mine here for $25 from another member, and he threw in some blades with it. It looks flawless.

I don't mind second hand at all, I have two superspeeds but I want to try the heavy merkur, I'll just rock one new from a website though. Thanks though Corey!

Shaving essentials rocks. Great prices, decent selection, you have your purchase in a matter of days, and as noted freebies to keep you coming back for more.

The deciding factor is really going to be what else you want to buy.

Both Westcoast and Shavingessentials are highly regarded vendors run by members of B&B.

I'd love to get one for like $23, but I don't want to come looking for 3 weeks to see if somebody is selling one just for seven bucks off. now if anybody knows if anybody is selling one....right now....

Good point. All the time I spent looking for a slant wasnt worth the $8 I saved.

Waiting for a specific razor in the BST is a catch-as-catch-can deal ... you might have to wait a loooooong time before you can snag an HD before someone else jumps on it. Remember, you have more than 15,000 other members competing with you for that same item.

I waited a good 3 months before I was able to score a 39C (Sledgehammer Slant) via BST. The post I responded to was less than 10 minutes old. Even after that long wait, I only saved $10 under the cost of buying one brand new.

In hindsight, I would have rather spent the extra $10, gotten a new one, and started enjoying it that much sooner.

Exactally, not to say that there aren't GREAT deals on the BST because there are...it's where I got my Gillettes. (gillettes are becoming really easy to find now a days) But the logic is sound, why wait 3, 4, 5, weeks searching for what could be a better price when you can just go get one for just a little bit more money?

On the other hand, people don't mind waiting and searching for a great deal if they're not in a "hurry" and not that a hurry is what I'm in but I mean, tomorrow, I'm going to sit down and buy a merkur from one of the websites everybody has mentioned and there goes the wait!

I really appreciate everybody's help, y'all were great!
