Franken-Cella: A Halloween Tale...

~ A riot is an ungly thing... undt, I tink, that it is chust about time ve had vun!~ Inspector Kemp, in Young Frankenstien

I have been putting off this experiment due to my bout of the flu which robbed me of my sense of smell on the very day that my SaveOnScents Old Spice (M) P&G [Type*] : Oil arrived in the mail. Oh woe! So I hunkered down and waited to return to my senses. And the wait was worth it.

A 1 kg block of Cella lurked in my shave cabinet, waiting to be split into portions and put in vacuum bags in the freezer for long term storage. One day, and idea stole into my twisted brain that perhaps the tallowy goodness of Cella might be perverted to my own devious ends. As a long time lover and user of the now defunct original Old Spice soap pucks, I had a yen to return to that land of my father, and Cella was my vehicle.

Following sanitary procedures due to the lack of preservatives in Cella, the block itself was cut into 9 sections since that was easy to eyeball in a 3X3 - resulting in chunks about 0.11 kg each. Eight were vac bagged and stored as planned. Looking furtively over my hunched shoulders, I withdrew from an inner pocket a 2oz bottle of the aforementioned SOS fragrance oil and decanted a mere 6ml of this into a gallon sized ziplock and dropped the chunk of soap in after. Kneading this reddish liquid into the soft soap mass this was not too difficult, although it did become a bit sticky. Were I to do it again, I would get the super concentrate rather than the standard to reduce the liquid volume. Even so, the consistency come out like the softer Valobra and putting the bag in the freezer allowed me to get it out without too much sticking. In its new plastic container, it looked and smelled good.

Will it lather? Has adding fragrance oil killed the properties for which Cella is so beloved? Not a bit. It loads and lathers as normal and the heady aroma of Shulton OS fairly permeates the room. With a cry of "It's Alive!!!!!!" I dive into Kyle's Prep and let my Gem 1912 go to work. The magic is there in all its glory, the slip, the cushion, and now, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, the SCENT!!:w00t:

Have I sinned at the very font of the Church of Cella? The die is cast and if I am cursed for eternity, it was worth it. It was worth it, I tell you! Ahahahaahaha!

Sinned? Have you sinned? By mixing those which shouldn't be mixed you have breathed live into an Old Spice scented abomination! You're an evil genius! :w00t:
