Tied some girdle bugs the other evening. Was asked to tie some for a local guide so I tied these to re familiarize myself with the pattern. Last time I tied any was in 2017

Finaly finished up all the girdle bugs so I'm back to tinkering with other stuff haha. Tied some reverse hackle tenkara style flies today. Tinkering with some glass beads I recently grabbed as well as woven wire bodies. Its a work in progress.

Really been enjoying hackle flies lately. The ring light doohickey really helps with the pics. I couldn't snap a pic that before that looked decent lol. It certainly make them look nicer and makes me look like a better photographer and tyer hahaha.
Finished these couple last night. Been trying to tweak and organize some stuff.

I don't know why I keep putting off responding to this thread, since I've tied flies for like 15 years. Probably because I haven't done it since my Grandfather's memorial. Beautiful work, I'm tempted to break out the old kit.

OK. C'mon, stop it. You can't keep claiming your camera gear or lighting rig makes your flies look better. The pictures speak for themselves. Those quill and braided bodies are awesome and you should accept the fact that your flies are spectacular. Keep em coming!
Lol, tho I know absolutely nothing about fly tieing, I know a lot about photography, and I agree with you. He is phenomenal at both. Truly works of art!

Stocking up on Red tag’s. I have a lot of success with these little guys! I’ve only been tying them for a year or so. Simple but versatile.
All you folks really got me wanting to try fly fishing!
