Flea Market Find

I picked this up at the flea market yesterday.

If I'm reading the date code of M-4 correctly, this is a 1967 Gillette Knack.

After a little scrubbing w/ a toothbrush and some dishsoap and then a little baking soda, it cleaned up quite nicely. (Though there's still a little bit of gunk I couldn't clean off on the underside, so any suggestions on the best way to try and clean that would be appreciated.)

Boil It!!!

Just kidding :biggrin1: As Alex said, Scrubbing Bubbles and a toothbrush will work wonders. I've also had good luck with baking soda and peroxide tooth paste with a toothbrush....for teeth and razors.

Knack is a nice razor. Good score.

As others have said. More scrubbing bubbles, toothbrush, and elbow grease.

I've always used just regular toothpaste, and the results have been just fine. Rub a dab with your fingers, and then use an old toothbrush to really clean it out.

Thanks for all the suggestions. It's cleaned up nicely, so far, I just know I can do better. I'll be trying each of your suggestions (except for boiling, obviously!) and see how it goes.

The action on the TTO mechanism seems flawless and it closes nice and tight. :biggrin1:

The Knack is a great shaver that doesn't get all the "love" it deserves! Yours looks to be in great shape.

Try using a mild polish like MAAS or Simichrome to remove the remaining surface crud . . .

Enjoy!!
