Anyone know the first year the Red Tip went into production?

Good question. Earliest I've seen is a '55 (A), but let's see what others say.

I've never seen an A. Were they discontinued in '59?

Another good question. I currently have a "C," so they went through '58. Sold the A a while ago, and never kept track of the others. Only so much information I can retain on these things.

I have an E-2, 1959. These have a lower band than all the other red tips.

The colored Superspeeds were actually introduced in 1954, according to Phil Krumholz, page 244, and the Geocities razor dating site.
There's always something out there we just gotta have!
Oh great, a 54' Red Tip...Now there's another one I have to search the world over for....
If I find it one of you fellows are welcome to my 55' (@ cost).
I'm hoping you find that '54 red tip. I'd like to be the first to say that I would like to have that '55 that you now have.
