First Shave with the Slant

Well, I made a post yesterday about receiving my new Merkur Slant but that I was going to wait a while to use it to improve my skills first. After much encouragement (peer pressure!), I decided to give it a go this morning.

I have to admit, you were all correct. What a great shave, definitely my best yet. I was really aware of not applying pressure and it was fantastic. I actually was able to do four passes with only some minor irratation on my neck where it was already irratated from the day before.

Looks like I have a new go to razor. By the way, I was using a Derby.

No. It's a long handled HD.

I have not used a 38C but I have used the 34C and in turn traded it for a 37C (HD Slant). I can't provide you with a technical answer to your question, but the 39C will be more aggressive. I use a Feather in my Slant and I now have less irritation on my neck and I get a closer shave. I would recommend trying one out.
