First shave with QCS Esquire: There Will (Not) Be Blood

Last night I got my first order from QCS. It was two soaps, two shampoo bars, and a bath bar. This morning I decided to take the Esquire croap out for an ol' spin 'round the bathroom, if you catch my drift. Well, I'm sure everyone reading this who has used something, anything, from QCS knows exactly where this is going, amirite?

The results were nothing short of spectacular! I wasn't exactly thrilled about the scent whilst it was still in the tub, but a few twirls of the brush, and thirty seconds of whipping with hot water, and this rich, sophisticated, gentlemanly scent filled the bathroom with class and culture. It honest-to-goodness smelled as though QCS had dumped a bottle of very high-end cologne into the batch before portioning it out. The shave was smooth as oiled silk, and even though I simply went for DFS my face was smooth and felt wonderfully moisturized, without a singly nick or weeper. I easily got a 2-pass with some touch-up at the base of my neck to get the stragglers, and finished off with a single drop of RR Cumba Cheech ASB. I felt ready to tackle the world, or at least my street!

I am not afraid or ashamed to admit it, but I had thought that some of the almost fanatical reviews for QCS I have read were on the same level with cross-eyed badger spit, but after this morning I am a complete convert. I still have two QCS soaps to try, but if they stack up well against the Esquire croap I used this morning, about the only down-side I can see is that eventually my tubs will be empty and I will need to buy more. Between this order of QCS, and the new tub of RR I also got yesterday, I'm making like the Jeffersons and movin' on up.

It is the stuff of legends indeed, but it sure does live up to the expectations.

Hanami and Basilica are my favorites, besides a wonderful batch of bespoke soaps Matthew made me.

Welcome to the QCS world! I love this stuff! I have the bath soaps, shampoo bars, and shave cream! All I can say is: try the Green Irish Tweed and Queen Charlotte! The really cool thing is that you can order samples of the shave creams and soaps and they are enough for two or three shaves.

I have 15 people in my work unit and last Sunday I purchased $80 worth of QCS Bath Soaps, Aftershave Balms, Lip Balms, and a few other items to give as Christmas Gifts this year. I am a big QCS fan.

I got a puck of GIT Type and Esquire. I kid you not.... I thought that the Esquire smelled kind of like Dr. Pepper directly off the puck unlathered. I agree with you about how wonderful the scent is after it is lathered thought. My other favorite QCS scent is Fougere. I got a sample of that but I will be getting a puck sometime in the future.

Please let us know how those (hair) shampoo bars work out. I have tried to wash my hair with my body soap before without much success but haven't tried a hair shampoo bar out of skepticism.

I have been using QCS shaving cream for the last year now, and it's my #1, and absolutely love it. I started using the shampoo bars a couple weeks ago. I use product on my hair (water soluble pastes, texturizing pastes, and water soluble pomade once in a while), and like to be able to wash it out, but daily washing always would strip my hair of everything, leaving it dry and brittle. The shampoo bars are excellent, and are gently enough for everyday use, very effective, but unlike every other bottled shampoo, they don't totally strip your hair of the natural oils and your hair is more consistent. Once a week or so you can also follow with a vinegar rinse after the shampoo, and it is a bit more cleansing/clarifying. The bar soap/bath soap is also top notch. I am sticking with the shampoo bars and have no intentions of going back to the chemical laden, harsh, overpriced bottled shampoos.

The shampoo bars work really, really well. I've been using the lemon-bergamot bar for the past week or so, and it feels outstanding! My scalp feels much better now, and my hair doesn't feel nearly as oily. They're super-easy to use, as well. I can't recommend them enough.

Love the shaving cream (and soap), Esquire is a great scent. Got a sample of it a while ago from Shaverjoe, loved it.

The shampoo bars are excellent, I actually liked what I was using before I started with the shampoo bars but liked them so much I switched over.

The body soaps are great.
AS balms are great.
See the trend?

Finished off a sample of Esquire this morning. I agree with all the praise.
I wish there were a non-tallow (vegan) option... but I don't know what might have to into that to make it impractical for QCS.

I had to use harsh anti-dandruff shampoos for decades. I switched to QCS Cedarwood-Rosemary over a year ago and have not needed the harsh shampoos since. It's been great. Of course I like and have their shave cream, pre-shave, ASB and bath bars. As for shave cream, can't beat Fougere or especially Mysore Sandalwood.

After trying dozens of different shaving creams over the last year, QCS creams are at or near the top. They have great scents, awesome lather (takes a bit of work but it's worth it), and excellent protection. I don't think I've ever had a shaving cut when using one of their creams, and I don't think I can say that about any other company, except maybe TOBS. I really hope they bring out aftershave splashes to match the creams and balms.
