First Brush Restoration

Hello all, I recently completed my first brush restoration and thought i'd share it here. My dad picked up this brush (Ever-Ready model 2) used in the early 1980s. After he gave it to me, I removed the old knot, sanded down the handle and tried to re-darken the rubber (to little avail). The knot is a 24mm TGN finest badger fan and the wood is finished with tru-oil; here it is pictured with my 37c, both were used this morning for a wonderful head shave.

Great job! TGN finest are my favorite knots to use when I make a brush. I think they’re worth every penny and then some. FYI after some use the tips will soften up and you’ll get considerably more splay with the fan than the bulb, which makes it fit nicely between a finest bulb and a silvertip.
