First Aristocrat.

I was pretty excited to find my first Aristocrat today. From what I have been reading, I think it dates between '46 and '47. Thought I would post some pics tonight and maybe get some info from the folks here, (I find it's usually just better, and quicker to do that way anyway)! the pictures were taken with my phone, so sorry if the quality isn't that great. Also, I would love to hear if anybody keeps these in their rotation, and what they think of them. Any info. will be greatly appreciated!

Nice find! I have 4 just like it. The 1946/47 US Aristocrat is my favorite razor! And they shave great too. I keep one of mine in service at all times. Judging from your photos I see little or no plate loss. That is good as far as resale value. The blade bank however seems to be old style, and not original to this set. What I would pay for this set would be $50 to $75. I recently bought a complete set for $50. It is in excellent condition. If you paid anything less than $50 I would say you did excellent!!! Nice find sir!

Two variations of 1940's Aristocrat: the 1941 version is un-notched and does not have end caps: and the un-notched post-war 1946-1947 variety tha have end caps.

Thanks! It was definitely my best find today. I actually paid more for two boxes of Gillette Thin blades that I found in a shop down the street. Do you ever see the blade banks come up for sale by themselves? Took a quick look on eBay but didn't see anything. Just curious if y'all ever see them.

I haven't seen too many of the blade banks like what you need, although they do pop up sometimes. Mostly the other types of blade banks are on eBay. You might try the B/S/T on this forum. But I think the blade bank you have is fine for your set. I can't remember too well, but I think someone once told me these sets occaisionally had the type of blade bank you have, so it really might be correct. At any rate, it is a very nice score. Congratulations sir!!!

that looks in great condition. i use one of these all the time, its probably the tto razor i use the most of all my tto razors, they are great shavers and have a good grip when using them, even when the hands are wet .
