What's new

Finally ordered

Last night I made my first purchase at Fendrihan's. Merkur 23c, I was going to get the 38c in blue but decided to save a little $. A puck of MWF, and bottle of Pinaud's bay rum AS and a blade sampler.

I received an email last night that my order's status is shipped so now I am going to be "stalking" the mailman until it arrives! :001_tt1:

I really can't wait and I am so glad I didn't have to fork over any more money for fusion cartridges!

And apparently my SCAD is in full swing as I will now have three different creams/soaps by the time I get my first DE shave.:thumbup1:

Welcome, and you will not regret it man. DE shaving is a joy. You willfind yourself impatiently waiting for your next shave.

Nice purchase! I approve of the "software". It's the same that I have and love. :001_wub: MWF can be tricky to lather, according to some, but I have had no issues with it. The Pinaud VIBR is really nice, IMO. It can sting some (!) when it goes on, but the scent lasts for a LONG time on me, and I like the cinnamon and clove aroma that it has.

Here's hoping that the postman comes early!

You won't be disappointed by the Merkur. Remember to maintain the proper angle, slow, no pressure. And please, please, please give the razor awhile before you go buying a new one. :001_tongu

Hey Guy - just checking, but do you already have a brush?

Nice start up kit but as someone has mentioned MWF can be a little tricky to yield a good lather so you may need to give it a few try's before shaving.

Good luck on you start up!

I do have a brush, one an ex got me at the body shop a long time ago. It seems to work ok. I have been using it with my proraso and AoS lemon cream, though I have been using a gilette fusion. :( Once I started reading how to properly make a lather with the brush my shaves even with the fusion become 100 times better.

Congrats on the haul!

Noooo - not SCAD at all! :wink2:

My official line is that as a newcomer to the art and science of shaving it is vital that I test many variations of razors, blades, soaps, creams, brushes* to ensure I'm getting the optimal mix for my face and skin

* and suppliers, aftershaves, colognes, soap sticks, pre-shaves, post-shaves, balms, scuttles, dopps, razor cases,...
