Finally, first straight shave!

well this is my first shave story

Well I finally sent out a blade to floppyshoes to get honed two weeks ago, and as I walked home today as every day I hoped my blade would be in the mail. On the walk home I saw a broken plastic knife discarded on the ground that kinda looked like an open straight and I knew that was a sign. I got home and checked the mailbox and to my disappointment no blade. So I walk into the house and my room mate(who never gets the mail) tells me I have mail. ITS HERE!

So quick as lightning I rush to the washroom get everything ready and have my shower and proceed. I was absolutely scared which gave me a nick under my bottom lip but it went away even before I was finished.

My lather sucked, and because of terror it wasn't the closest shave i have ever had but I am hooked.

timeh ive just completed my 10th straight shave and it on par with de
on a three parce shave its up there with a dam good de, and no clean up with the fatboy
it can only get better

Congrats fellows!! I'm a noob too but I am a little further along and can say without doubt it gets better. I have achieved an HD quality shave with my straight and it's just a blast. There is nothing cooler than stropping the blade and enjoying the process and getting the best shave ever. Just a great way to start the day.

Glad you enjoyed it! I think I've got 3 or 4 shaves down, and I get a lot more satisfaction out of this than using a DE. Keep it up!

Congrats on the shave! I did #3 this morning, getting better everytime... I don't know if having any experience with a DE counts, I would think it does a bit, but I seem to be getting a hold on this quickly!
