Figaro Crema Da Barba

A work friend of mine recently went on a vacation to Italy. When he was headed out the door, he asked if I wanted him to bring me anything back. I asked for a tub of Cella.

He returned to work yesterday, and he got me a tub of Figaro instead of Cella (said he visited a couple of stores and they didn't have it, only the Figaro). I tried it this morning and I thought it was quite nice. Nice lather, slick, and a very pronounced and pleasant almond scent. I still haven't gotten a chance to try Cella, so I'm wondering how Figaro compares to Cella. Any members that have tried both of these soaps have any feedback? Thanks,

Well well, a few months late but I can answer that!

You might have tried both yourself in the meantime, but for what it's worth I think Cella is much better. Thicker, more cushion, but I might like the scent of the Figaro a bit more. Problem is, I'm having a real hard time getting good thick lather out of it no matter how I try. It's slick, but even if I load a lot on the brush I can never get it to be as creamy as I want it. No such problems with Cella, which is basically foolproof (I got it as my first soap and never had any problems). As I understand it the Figaro used to be the same as the mythical P.160, but has been reformulated, possibly dropping tallow; I can only guess it got worse in the process. Luckily you can buy RazoRock Classic Shaving Cream Soap which is the exact same as the old Figaro/P.160, it's even made in the same plant in Italy! I'll buy that myself soon.

Curious to hear if your opinion has changed since you posted this!
