Fendrihan Classic Silvertip

Has anyone tried a Fendrihan Classic Shaving Brush? I'm asking because I just received one that is being allocated to a silent auction and it looks fantastic. It sells for under $60 and looks and feels a lot better than anything I've handled (dry) in its class, so I'm very interested in any feedback. It's also warrantied for life.

Anyone?

Their Pure badger with the same faux horn handle was my first badger brush which I bough last year. It had good backbone but was too prickly and lacked density. The handle's very comfortable, so I re-knotted it with a TGN Silvertip.
I'm curious to hear your impressions from your Silvertip. Some photos would help too. :sneaky2:

I no longer have the brush - I just passed it along for the auction so no photos unfortunately. My impressions without having soaked or used it:

Extremely comfortable handle - right up there with the best ergonomics.
Medium density.
Nicely formed bulb knot.
Soft tips - of course this could change when wet.

The colour of the faux tortoise shell handle wasn't as nice as Shavemac's (and I'm sure the knot won't be as good) but the Shavemacs start at about $100 for a comparable knot.

The Fendrihan silvertip I had was a VERY soft brush, mush softer than the Simpsons Berkeley in Best I had. I purchased a Calssic Silvertip for my brother last years for Christmas and, whicle I didn't get to use it, I found it to be comparable to my version when doing a "dry feel" comparison.

I'd be curious to hear about the experiences of some that have actually used it, with regards to backbone, soap lathering ability, water retention, face lathering etc.

Soft tips, not a lot of backbone but not floppy, great for hard and soft soaps as well as creams, can suck up and hold a lot of water (squeeze to adjust), and I am a near 100% face latherer. Quite frankly, one of the best brushes I've owned, but I haven't had Thaters, M&F, or Shavemac.

Alas, I no longer have it as Foyle has converted me to boards :cursing:

Thanks! But...boards?? What is that?
