Feather vs. ?

Been wet shaving about 5-6 weeks now and need to purchase more blades. Have been using Feather from the get go. How do the Red Pack Israeli Personna Double Edged Razor Blades stack up? I see they are alot cheaper and I know you get what you pay for but if I change them more often will they still give a VG shave?
I use a super speed and EJ 89L at this time. A slim adjustable is in the mail.
Maybe I should just order sample packs and then decide. Too many decissions.

That said, people recommend Super Iridium, Astra, Kai, and I think Gillette Platium (Black-box 7 O'clock) when I asked once about Feather-alikes that were milder.

What's really funny is that my status just changed to Blade Sampler Sophomore, and I did just order a second sampler pack

I picked up the WCS "Choice" sampler, and added Nacet, Gillette Bleue, and Gillette SharpEdge (yellow 7 O'clock). I also received an order from DesiStores with some green and black 7 O'clocks.

I guess I just needed a kick to do what I thought would be the best way to go right now. Glad you kick wasn't too hard.

Just ordered the sample pack from WCS with additional Super Iridium and Gillette 7 o'clock black.

you get what you pay for

Not necessarily! There are some cheap blades that could work very well for you. Its just a mattering of working your way through a sampler pack.

I usually use either one or the other, and I think that the Red Packs shave just about as well as the Feather. However, they don't seem to slice through the beard as smoothly as a Feather, so you will probably be able to notice the difference when you shave. Also, using a lighter razor such as Super Speed instead of a heavier razor seems to amplify the effect.
