Some time ago I had posted about Feather's Kanwa AS balm, and how good it was. I've been using it since as my AS balm, and it continues to perform in an excellent manner. It goes on quick, is absorbed completely, is very soothing and dries with no smell at all.
I had mentioned how it was available from Classic Shaving in a trial size along with a trial of Nanka shave gel. Classic offers it for $8.99 for the two. I had mentioned that the Nanka shave gel is non lathering so I didn't think I'd use it for anything but some cleanup if at all.
Today I did my usual shave which I usually followup with a water cleanup of any rough spots. I reached for my usual after shave products and was going to do some water cleanup, I grabbed the Nanka shave gel instead of the Kanwa balm. I thought of giving this a try for the cleanup instead of doing the water bit.
As I squeezed some from the container I could see why I wouldn't use it to shave with. Its clear, runny, and looks just like water. I applied it to the rough areas, under my jaw line on one side, and several spots on my neck. I was using my 1904 DE and just hit those areas very light, and ATG. WOW, what a result. Smooth and all the stubble gone with just a few ATG strokes and some J-hooking. I was very impressed, and I believe I'll use this Nanka shave gel for all my cleanup's from now on. Usually doing water cleanup had tended to open up the possibility of irritation, but not at all with this Feather Nanka.
I was very pleased to find a good use for this product, and to mention that its worth a trial for anyone to see how it would work for them. As I mentioned IMHO I don't think it would be that great as a shave gel due to the fact that its so clear and thin, its almost like water. But as a cleanup product it worked great for me, and it might be worth a trial for anyone looking for that last little bit to round off a shave.
