So... I've had a pack of Feathers beckoning to me from my medicine cabinet for the last month and I admit, I have some trepidation. My question is - what should I load one into? My options:
Merkur Classic - my go-to razor. The one I started with. Still my favorite.
Merkur 38c - this beast is new to my arsenal and I love it, but it can be a little difficult to maneuver with the precision I get from my Classic.
'58 Red Tip - I love it, but it requires more touch-up passes than my Merkurs... plus, I start feeling the stubble about 5 hours earlier than with the aforementioned two rigs
'72 SuperSpeed - my birth year razor, but it's pretty mild and feels almost too light and chintzy in my hand. At the same time, I do need to take this one out for another spin.
My go-to blades are the usual suspects: Derby, IP, Crystal, & occasionally an Astra. I know YMMV and all that, but out of the four options listed above, can anyone recommend a good test vehicle for the Feather? Also, would it be a good idea to wait until I have a couple day's worth of stubble before I give it a go in order to maximize its Featherness?
Thanks!
