Fantastic Coffee and Service

I recently tried to place an order for the first time from our own Jasonian at AJ Coffee Co. I kept screwing up the shipping details and paypal kept rejecting the order. I got frustrated, then got distracted and forgot about placing my order. The next day I received an email from AJ Coffee asking me if I was having difficulties and that they could just send me a PP invoice to simplify the matter. Jason didn't know me from the man in the moon, or that I was even a member here until after the transaction was completed. The coffee arrived today, roasted on the 9th, and is fantastic! I cannot find fresh roasted beans anywhere near me and I am thrilled that I found this option. I just wanted to acknowledge the great service and the great product from one of our vendors. Thanks Jason.

Speaking of great small businesses, we have a coffee roaster where I live and they have started a subscription service. Twice a month I will have a half pound delivered to my doorstep all for less than what it would cost for me to buy it at the store.

If you have a local roaster in town, see if they will start a delivery service.

Great to hear of good service and coffee!

if you really like very freshly roasted coffee you can always try roasting your own in a 1970's hot air popcorn popper. Very easy and fun to do, you can get the poppers on the bay for about $25 or so. Or find them at garage sales for a couple of bucks. You want the original West Bend The Poppery. The Poppery II is ok but less powerful than the original.

Just checked out this site ..... Damn they really know coffee ... As a brewer / BJCP judge the descriptions on the coffee remind me of how I would describe the flavors of beer or wine.... though for coffee ( his coffee doesn't taste like beer thogh that may be interesting . I'll be placing a order later today. I never would of found this site if not for the OP's great review of his company, I guess great customer service and word of mouth really do mean something.

As soon as my Counter Culture subscription is finished (next month I think), I plan to order from AJ Coffee!

Jasonian, I don't suppose you sell greens to home roasters do you?

It hasn't come up often enough to consider it, though I'm not opposed to it. Shoot me an email to discuss further, if you're interested.

To those of you gentlemen who may have tried to order and gave up on fighting with our shopping cart, firstly, please accept my apologies.

Secondly, if you would, send me an email or a PM so I can get you squared away. Thanks for the love, gents!

A few years ago, I was training another roaster who used to be a beer hobbyist and he said about the same thing. Tasting clicked with him right away. :)

Cool! When school is over and I have more time, I'll certainly hit you up. It would be nice to have a source other than Sweet Maria's, and to be able to support a B&B vendor. It's a hobby me and my son both enjoy. (Well, he's 3, and I make him sit away from my work area with his own bowl, spoon, and some old coffee beans so he thinks he's roasting too. He's getting older, so I might have to give him an old broken hair-dryer.)
