One of my favorites is Pre de Provence No. 63 Aftershave Balm. This is PdP’s description of the scent:
“Aromatic, warm and spicy in nature, No.63 is a classic expression of masculine fragrance with a peppery citrus top note rounded by woody cedarwood, juicy plum, and violet leaves that finish into an ambery base of leather and tobacco.”
The scent smells really good. It’s modern, yet masculine, and definitely a compliment getter. It also does a really good job of soothing and moisturizing. I don’t often get scented soaps or aftershave so I can’t speak on too many scents. However, in terms of face-feel in the cold weather months, I’d recommend Stirling balms, PAA Mysterium Serum, and Zingari Man. They all come in scents that would work for the colder months or unscented if you prefer that. If you want a classic alcohol splash, then you can’t go wrong with Old Spice.
I don't change aftershaves with seasons. Other fragrances, yes, but not aftershaves... Shave Chaser/Skin Bracer, Sacre Bleu/Aqua Velva Ice Blue, and Cold Spices/Old Spice Original all year. Full disclosure, most of my shaves are late afternoon/early evening and I'm going to be at home; if I'm going out, I use an unscented AS and another fragrance.
