Face lathering with creams

I face lather and have been using soaps exclusively. I also shave in the shower. I just ordered a tub of tobs lemon lime, can't beat the price, under 9 bucks on eBay. Im wondering if anybody uses creams and face lathers? And if so what's there routine

I only face lather and use soaps and creams. If it's a tub I usually dip the brush and get some cream on the tips thon get to it. If it's a tube, I usually smear a bit on a cheek and then get going with the brush. Simple!

I face lather with both soaps and creams and my routine is largely the same with both. I do not shave in the shower. I have tried it several times and it just did not work for me. I soak my brush while I shower. If I am using a cream in a tub I dip the brush in the cream and twist or swirl it a few times depending on the consistency of the product. If the cream is in a tube, I squirt a bit on the brush and build the lather on my face. You will learn from your experience with the product about how much to load. I have had excellent results with all of the TOBS creams that I have. I have yet to try the lemon lime but I am sure that it will be a great performer for you. Enjoy your shaves.

If you want to face lather creams you can use the "dip and twist" method. Just dip lightly your moistened brush in the bowl of cream and twist it to cover the tips. Then proceed face lathering. It's easy and effective. :wink2:

I put tube and tub cream directly on my face (cream on finger, then to face in about 5 places, both cheeks, both sides of neck, and throat). Bring a wet brush up and start building lather.

No problems using creams this way (just like using a shave stick, only easier)

Face lathering Proraso red with my 24mm TGN custom has been my favorite combo for the last few weeks... MDC MWF and Mikes are all sitting on the shelf waiting for Red to be used up

Here is my routine.
-Fill shaving bowl full of hot water.
-Put shaving brush in shaving bowl.
-Put damp hot towel on face for at least a minute.
-Drain shaving bowl (which should now by hot) and lightly shake out excess water from brush.
-Dip damp hot brush into cream.
-Whip up lather in hot shaving bowl.
-Remove towel from face and apply lather.
-Shave.

Uhmmm the thread title is: "Face lathering with creams"

You whip up lather in the hot shaving bowl and apply lather to face - in what way is this face lathering
In my book this is 110% bowl lathering and 0% face lathering :001_tt2:

I got moves like Jagger
Another vote for the Dip'n'Twist method to load your brush from a tub. From a tube, either squirt directly onto the knot or... squirt on your finger and rub it on your face and then it's just like you're lathering after rubbing a shave-stick on your face.

I face lather only. first creams (arko red and razorock soft soap) and now arko and DR Harris soaps.
whip water off brush, for creams :proraso red: squeez out almond size amt on finger and smear on face or lay on brush. begin face lathering and enjoy the bliss.
I don't have tubs of creams and have yet to use TOBS. many ppl swirl the brush in or scoop a small amt with their finger. apparently a little goes a long way, probably like proraso. I'm sticking to the sandalwood cream as I love the scent and it is very slick for me so it works. this and arko I cannot be without.

I face lather ONLY as well! With tube/pump creams I just squeeze/pump the cream directly onto my brush, then onto the face it goes. With tub type creams I dip the brush into the tub to get the desired amount of cream. Simple and Sexy.
