Executive Adjustable, adjuster won't turn

The Executive I bought has a slight problem. The adjuster dial will not turn. Is there any way to fix that. I did not pay much for it and will still look great as a display piece. But if I can make it work even better.

Soak it in mild detergent. Dish soap should work.
Turn it as far back and forth as you can between soakings, it should move more and more as you free the gunk out.

If all else fails, disassembly is an option, but carries the risk of damage.

I did soak it in scrubbing bubbles. Will the dish soap work better? Right now it will not even begin to turn.

I have had adjusting dials that were frozen like that.

Don't rush it, let it soak in warm water and dish washing soap for a couple hrs. Then wrap a rag around the dial and try it back and forth. No go? No problem....back in the warm soapy water.

Remember, you are looking for a case....you will free it up before the mailman brings you that case.

It is probably just completely filled with hardened up crud.

Some sort of solvent down the center hole until it runs out clear generally fixes that in my normal adjustables, although I'm not sure what solvent I would recommend with the gold plating. My usual suspects there are probably not worth the risk of damaging the plating.

Hot water from the tap and soaking for a few hours helped loosen up a tight adjuster on mine. Unless you totally submersed the razor in liquid scrubbing bubbles, as opposed to heavily spraying the surface, it likely did nothing to free up the gunk in there.

You guys are the best. I can now move it 3 clicks. I will keep soaking and gently twisting.

Make sure that the adjuster tang (the piece with the four "fingers" that extend upward through the base plate) is free to move up and down. If you can now turn the collar three clicks, it may be binding against the tang if it is stuck. The tang must be able to move up and down when the collar is turned, or the razor will not actually adjust.

You may be on to something. It now clicks 2-9 it will not go to 1. As I am turning the adjuster I see no movement. I watched my FatBoy and you can see it move. If the tang is stuck can it be unstuck?
