Espro Coffee Press

I saw that and thought I'd have to go back to school for an engineering degree before I could buy one. That said, I'm a sucker for any new gadget.

they get pushed to the bottom like any french press

I have been using the larger 8 cup (32 fl oz) Espro Press for a couple days now - so far I like the way the double filtration works. Clean up isn't much more involved than any other press I have used. Fairly clean cup for a metal filter brew too.

I have the big one but rarely use it...

Edit: I should probably elaborate a bit...I've use it a couple times, but I'm not a huge fan of the French press...definitely better than most automatic drip machines, definitely better than a great method with bad coffee, but compared to my espresso machine, pour over, CCD, Aeropress, etc., it's my least favorite brew method. Not bad, nothing wrong with it, but I prefer a cleaner cup, and the CCD and the HarioV60 are my coffees of choice.

Why would anyone want to get rid of the coffee 'sludge' at the bottom of their mug?!? I look forward to that final swirl of coffee w/the sludge... it's the best part!

Outside of emptying clogged bowels, I can't go along with the "best part" part...
