So this is the Logo of Christoph Luthardt Fikken Sohn (CLFS). He was a miner of Thuringian hones in Steinach and his quarry was the last that closed (in 1966). For a long time Luthardt was the supplier of waterhones to the Escher company.
Regards Peter
Thanks, this one is 30mm X 112mm and 15mm deep.

Hello everyone, my hobby is wood carving and I thought I had an problem with stone obsession, after reading this forum I feel much more normal …lol. I usually use oil stones but wanted to try a Thuringian so bought one (I believe!). I am very surprised with the feed back I get from it,very, very nice.

My question can anyone help? I am unsure as who the manufacturer is, the logo looks like S&D or D&S. The only company I can find whose initials might fit is S.R. Droescher?

Thanks in advance for any help.

This find has me stunned. Bought on eBay. Seller said it was in a basement in Philadelphia with other antiques.
They all same cut, light green, maybe there is a YG green hiding there but so far the ones I lapped a bit are LG. Box is of a size I have not seen before. Seems like it was really made as box of rubbing stones.
The large stone is there just for comparison.

Is it the same seller that has the Old Rock coticules? If so who ever lived there must have hoarded some nice rocks
