Erskine shaveing brushes?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I just purchased ( Wed) an Erskine #98, boar bristle brush for five dollars. It appeared to have been used very little and was stiff with disuse. I washed it, soaked it in hot water and lathered it up three times. The bristles softened and after it dried, the bristles flared out. I used it to shave this morning. It performed like most new boar bristle brushes. I got a great lather using some Proraso shave soap and shaved with the new Gillette Tech I purchased at the same time. The brush has a beige bottom and a red top. A great looking brush.

I had never heard of Erskine shaving brushes befor. I spent about an hour searching for information this morning, but could not find anything about the brush or the company. I saw one different model, with a green handle and badger bristles, for sale. Anyone know anything about these or where to find the information?
