I recently picked this up from an antique store. The bottom of the brush reads:
"Sterilized Erskine, Pure Badger, Set in Rubber"
Has anyone ever seen one of these guys before?

Yes-the brand that is.... they surface every now and then. My daily brush is an Erskine acrylic that I restored as the original boar & badger combo bristles were not usable. There seems to be next to no information about the company other than it was probably located in the northeast U.S. and was around for a long time and shaving brushes were probably not the main product line.

Thanks Mike. I did read a post last night saying that the company was still around up until 1952. I'm wanting to use it for my first reknotting. The bristles in the brush look pretty good however my assumption is that they're very brittle and dried out.
