Enjoyed day 1 with Gem 1912

Hi everyone,

I used my newly acquired Gem 1912 (with SE blades ordered from Ted Pella), and I had a great time. I got a bit of irritation along the jawline below one ear, but that are is difficult anyway. It's such a fun razor to shave with - great auditory feedback, very stiff and sharp blade, nice balance. I'm looking forward to becoming more proficient with it. I highly recommend giving this razor a shot if you are interested in trying something beyond DE shaving without needing to strop/hone.

The Gem Razors are wonderful, and very under-rated. My 1912, and G Bar provide wonderful, close shaves, and often times with less effort than a DE.

Yes, I was very surprised by the smoothness of the shave and the ease with which I found the correct angles. Due to the rigidity of the blade it just mows down anything in its way, but in a gentle way!

I've found the Gem 1912 and 1900/1901 to be very easy to use and get a great shave with. Similarly good experience with a Bullet Tip Micromatic. The first time that I used a Open Comb Micromatic, several months ago, was not good, but with some more Gem experience under my belt, I'm going to try it again tomorrow.

My GEM 1912 gave me the equal best shave I've ever had. I've been able to match it a couple of times but not surpass it. They are an excellent shaver and as said very under rated.

Yes, I love my Gem 1912 and the sound of my beard being cut is more pronounced with the Gem than any other razor I own. Needless to say I love the sound and they consistantly give me a great shave.
