EJ de89/ Gillette slim adj

Been shaving about 4 months with the. EJ and recently acquired a slim adj. What would the comparable setting be on the slim?

Try a three. You really want to be safe dial it down to 2. I just used the slim for two weeks and for the most part any setting on or below 3 is considered safe.

I have both the razor. Start with 2 with a non feather blade. Work your way from here.

When I'm using feather, I dial my slim to 1 to prevent any nicks

Mine's on 2 with a Feather. Zero irritation each time. I might dial to 3 but i got to be careful

The equivalent blade gap is probably a three or so. It will never shave like an EJ at any setting; it shaves a lot better, in my opinion.

I don't understand all the caution in this thread, either. The Slim is great at 6 or 7.

You think the Slim shaves better than the EJ89 at any setting?? Or is that the other way around?

I've shaved with a Feather on 9 with no problems

3 with a Gillette 7 o/c or 2 with a Feather - great shaves guaranteed

I've got both, and have been keeping the Slim on 5 for awhile. Same easy, close shave with either. I could live with either as an only too.

95% of the differences between shaves is hydration and technique IMO. We talk about tools a lot but after you've got a reasonably decent razor and soap tools don't affect the shave all that much.
