Gillette Slim v/s Fatboy Adjustable?

Anyone know when the Fatboy went away being replace with Slim Adjustable.

Both shave well, both are multi settings.

Personal owned Fatboy 50 years ago, today own Slim.
They made the Fatboy until 1962. The Fatboy was not a particularly profitable razor. The Slim is, basically, a cheapened version of the Fatboy.

We’ll all I know is IMHO Fatboy seem to go for more an resale Market.

In the hunt for a Fatboy as I have slim.
It took me 6 months to find a cheap one at an estate sale. I usually find SuperSpeeds and Techs, Schick injectors, Rolls Razors, and GEMs.

I have yet to find an Aristocrat in good enough condition. I did find one to shave with, though, until I find a nice one.

The only DE Razor I ever found at Estate Garage - Estate Sale was cheap chinese Razor.

But I still am in hunt.🤯

Between garage/estate sales, antique stores/ malls and flea markets, I have found 43 vintage razors. The cheapest being the Case straight razor in pretty good condition for a quarter.

If I could give one bit of advice… and I consider it a basic rule of collecting anything… once you decide to start collecting anything… whatever it is… get very picky very fast… if you do not do this, you will have a collection of junk and projects. You will not always pick winners. You will make mistakes. The earlier that you get picky… very picky… the better that your collection will be.

Stay on the hunt… keep your head on a swivel. I always assumed, possibly wrongly, that Arizona would have more of everything from the secondary market… razors, tools, kitchen knives… anything that anyone collects… because the population skews older because people retire there.

With the price of gas I won’t go out of my way for an estate/garage sale or antique shop.

Luckily regarding projects if we can determine the value by the price of a back roads gold replate.
