What's new

Edwin jagger sheads like crazy.

Well my edwin Jagger best badger sheds a lot. I usually get 3 to 4 hairs a shave that fall off. Can anything be done or is the brush doomed?

I have the same brush, mine also shed for the first 8-10 shaves. Now it rarely does, just be gentile with it post shave, try not to shake it too hard when getting rid of the excess water before you let it dry.

I had a shedder some time ago which lost hairs from new. I sent it back to EJ and got a replacement - they're pretty responsive if you're worried about it.

My EJ Best Badger shed loads of hair so I sent it back and it got replaced with a Super Badger brush. This was very good service, but actually this new brush is losing 2 or 3 hairs a day since I got it a few months ago. I can cope with this amount of shedding but am not sure if it should be happening!

Many brushes will shed when new, but should stop within a month of daily use. A good brush will rarely drop a hair. Loss of an occasional hair isn't an issue. But if you're experiencing loss of multiple hairs per shave after a month or so, you have a shedding problem, and you should seek redress from your supplier/manufacturer. They tend to be pretty stand-up people.
