What's new

Dumb Question?

This may be a dumb question but... do colognes have a shelf life/expiration date? Currently in my rotation is Crabtree & Evelyn Sandalwood, Truefitt & Hill Trafalgar, B&B cologne, and lastly Penhaligon's English Fern.

Thanks for all respones.

They can lose some of their fragarance over time. Depends a lot on storage,
cool dark place, should be best. Direct sunlight would be the worst. I have a couple that are 15+ years old that smell the same today as when they were new.

I store mine in leather photo box's. Dark and out of the way of helpful hands trying to dust and whatnot.

There are some scent-o-philes that keep them in a dark controlled 55 degrees for maximum life, but this is probably overkill.

As has already been said light and wide temperature fluctuations are bad.
