Dubl Duck in Amboyna Burl

High res pics here.

Scales were done by Mike, blade was restored by myself.

I apologize, I was in a rush and forgot to take before pictures. Just imagine a whole lot of rust along the top.

The pictures do not do the razor justice. A true beauty to behold in person. Thanks, Leighton. You have outdone yourself.

Folks, this razor had both feet dangling over the edge of the grave and Leighton has brought it back to life. A miracle.

Very nice work on the blade and scales. If I may ask, what material was used for liners? For some reason I can't see if their is liners. Also is the spacer the same wood?
I love that wood.
Thanks,
Bill

Mike used a blue acrylic as a liner for strength. The wedge is also amboyna.

Scales and wedge are both stabilized Amboyna burl, finished with Arrow gun stock finish. Very durable and flexible. Kind of a satin finish. The spacer is vulcinized knife spacer material. You can get this at most knife supply shops. I seal it with CA. Adding the spacer really adds strength to burl woods, as they can be brittle. Learned all of this from Mr. Bill Ellis on his CD and blogspot.

My thanks to you as well, Mike. Both you guys have outdone yourselves.
