Dremel polisher.

Has anyone tried a Dremel Polishing kit to buff out Maas on a razor? Techs and such have pretty flat surfaces, but the TTO's are a bit of a pain to polish. For some areas I'll use a toothbrush to apply and buff it out, but I was wondering if there's a mini buffer that would work on the inside of a TTO.

never tried but that might work, but i would definetly try it on the lowest speed possible in an inconspicous spot...give it a shot, unless someone else has tried it with bad results...definetly a no go on the gold plated ones.

Lynn over at SRP has a video and uses a dremel on str8s. He suggests using a battery opperated and at very low speeds.

#1 on above.

Thanks. I was looking at that battery Dremel, but wanted to be sure it wasn't a total "don't try this at home".

did exactly this to my tech last night see thread "bringing a gillette tech back to life" under safety razors, i used mostly hand polishing but got the hard to reach and really caked on areas with the dremel. I used Brasso but I'm sure MAAS is very similar

I've used my dremel quote a bit on razors. It works well, just don't get too aggressive. Ditto on what's been said on the gold unless the finish is shot and you want to get to the brass.

For the nooks and crannies, I break q-tips in half and fit them in the dremel. Works great.

The beautiful razors you see on the bay have had the dremel treatment. Use a slow speed and a mild polish. I was told that Maas is used. I don't use Brasso at all as it is very harsh and with a Dremel I'll be surprised if any plating is left.

Yes, I use my Dremel with polishes on razors too. I only use it on the low speed though (I have a cordless adjustable speed model).
