I've enjoyed the pink for over a year now. The initial scent is a pleasent rose that is fast fading so it doesn't clash with anything, but I find it too over moisturizing for my skin type. The pink is witch hazel based and Arlington A/S is alcohol based so maybe it would leave me feeling a little more less oily. Can someone who has tried both give a comparision of the moistuizing properties?

Unless they've reformulated of late - and I'm pretty sure they haven't - there is no witch hazel in D.R. Harris Pink. The ingredients are essentially water, alcohol, glycerin, scent and coloring. It's the glycerin that you're finding moisturizing.
I've not used the Arlington a/s, but I do have Marlborough, and it is MUCH less moisturizing than the Pink, and considerably higher in alcohol. I believe the other Harris a/s formulations (except for Pink) are similar, although my understanding is the Marlborough is higher in menthol than the others. Assuming the Arlington is similar to the Marlborough, I doubt you'll find it too moisturizing at all. Personally, I find the Marlborough too drying, but that may be what you're looking for. Just be advised, it's a pretty extreme jump between the two types.
Santa is bringing both of these for me. I'll have to jump in after x-mas on this one... I do have sandalwood and can tell if applied to wet face does not leave me dry. It's very strong scent is another issue.

Thanks for the reply sounds like what I am looking for in an A/S. my bad about the witch hazel, it's Floris A/S I was remembering about it, has glycerin as well,but It doesn't make me feel over moisturized. I guess I will buy some since I really enjoy the lather from the arlington soap ,SWMBO likes the scent.
