Does strop dressing go bad?

I got some in an eBay lot; it's old. Never used, but old.
It's red star carborundum strop dressing.

Organic oils will oxidize, so it depends on what it is made of. Anything on the box?

Ah, I think that might have an abrasive in it. It might still be good! Try rubbing it on a strip of denim and see what it does when you strop on it.
