Does (nib) Size Matter ?

#5, #6, #10, #15, In a specific pen manufacturer, with same nib types, will size change the dynamics of a nibs performance and how it feels when writing ?

anyone own a pen with similar nibs of different sizes ?, just curious to know

I own the Pelikan M200 series pens with a M, Binderized F, EF and OM. The EF is a little scratchy compared to the others. The Binderized F writes closer to a M to my feel. and the OM is a completely different feel than the others. I also have a B, but it writes pretty wet, so it was replaced by the Binderized F.

Length can change the amount of give that a nib has, for example a huge Pelikan M1000 seems more flexible than a smaller M400 nib because of added leverage.

So I say yes.

That's what I thought Doug... longer tines means easier give, but wasn't sure. ..

I'd imagine between #5, and #6 not so much but between a 5 and a 10 / 15 there would have to be some feeling differences

Oh I thought you meant what we prefer personally.
Not if it actually makes a difference to performance.

I still like the look of the #6 best.

I know, once you use the number 6, vintage and number 5's look so small... A couple of pilots I have been looking at come either number 5,10, or 15, I just wasnt sure if the price jump was worth it, but the pen I am really looking at has the number 10 on it

I always heard that it wasn't the size of the nib, but the angle of the script that matters. I guess it depends on who you're writing though. ymmv.
