Do bands correlate with hair grade?

Just when I think I am understanding 2 band and 3 band badger hair brushes, I confuse myself again. Is there a correlation between hair grade and banding? For example does Simpsons best = 2 band and Simpsons super= 3 bands. Then throw in Rooneys finest. I am looking for a pattern or not. Thanks

Simpson Best = 3 band

Simpson Super = 3 band or 2 band (which is usually labelled as 2 band....and priced accordingly)

There is no set nomenclature for brush hair. So be careful with assuming that one name at manufacturer A means the same thing from manufacturer B. For example Rooneys Finest is a 2 band top of the line hair grade, while Shavemac Finest is a 3 band grade under Silvertip. Just make sure to do your homework on what terminology any maker uses.

Banding should always refers to the number of stripes in the hair of the knot. Just be aware that there may be more than one grade of hair in that number of bands. Again, Rooney has a two band grade in the Heritage line, and a Finest grade of hair which happens also to be two band. It can get confusing....
