DMT 600 or Shapton Glass 500?

I'm looking at adding a coarse stone for metal removal as well as an intermediate for kitchen knives. My current setup is:

DMT 8C 320
Shapton Glass 1000
Shapton Glass 4000
Shapton Glass 8000
Shapton Glass 16000

I'm considering the Shapton glass 500 which is around $40 or the DMT Fine 600 which is around $50. I realize the DMT Fine won't need lapping and is probably a faster cutter than the Shapton 500. Does anyone have any thoughts on which one would be better and why?

haven't used them for kitchen knives, but I have both the 600 DMT and 500 Shapton glass. I use the DMT 600 for rough work on damaged straight razors. To me, it's much faster than the shapton glass 500 , you don't have to lap it as you say, and if you drop it it won't break, but it might break your floor. Same can't be said about the SG stone

That is what I would have recommened. When I have to get aggressive with a razor, I'll pull out the 240 green carbide hone.
