I've been looking into buying my first hanging strop but I've hit a few walls:
I don't understand the differences in leather! There's so many types! How do Red and Black Latigo differ from say, Steerhide or Horsehide? Or burgandy? Or English Bridle?
I've been looking at the Rich Man's from Whipped Dog or the Big Daddy/OVB Strops from Star Shaving but I'm overwhelmed with choices.
For those wondering, the reason I'm thinking these 2 is because they're reasonable and with Chicago screws the leather can be replaced, I figure I'll nick it at some point.
Eventually, when he's healthy, I'll look into one from Tony. For now, I think these should fit the bill.. IF I can figure out whats a good leather.
