We went down to Lebanon Mo. today to a few antique malls and found a few things. My best purchase was a Franz Swaty razor hone, people on the DE board might not appreciate it as much as the straight razor people but it is one the best barber hones that you can find. You see I collect all shaving gear including DE, SE, straights and all of the weird ones like Durham's and Rolls. I also collect strops, blades, soaps, some mugs and scuttles, vintage soap bowls, hones and various weird sharpeners. A lot of of the weird razors and sharpeners didn't always work the best but they were still a fascinating part of shaving history. I found a zip-lock bag that had 2 vintage Colgate soaps, 2 vintage William's soaps and a vintage NOS Surrey brush. I picked up a black glass de blade hone and a Eversharp travel injector razor. I got another solid brass brush almost identical to one that I already own and check out the old shaving bag that was full of vintage shaving gear.
The bottom 2 pics are of the contents of the bag/kit, I already have the slim with case, actually about 4 slims but now 2 w/cases, and I already own the black beauty but I'll always take more. Those 2 Schicks are the same and I didn't have that particular model yet. I have a soap bowl almost identical to that one, of course everything from that bag is filthy and I have a lot of cleaning to do.
I just noticed that I got 2 blue Surrey brushes, one in a box and one used....they are on the bottom tier of my shave brushes but they came with other things...soooo oh well.
