Diamond paste versus spray

First off, I am new to str8 shaving (2 months). I am having good touch up results with CrO2 side of "the filly" from ruprazor. However, I am going to need something more aggressive for longer term maintenance...
I have a 4-sided paddle coming from Tony Miller and plan on using a few diamond compounds. Any advice on what micron compounds I should start with? Also, is there a difference between a diamond paste and a spray? It seems like the sprays would be easier to apply. I am looking at the sprays from SRD. Thanks everyone!

If using sprays on a paddle it is best to see if they are water or alcohol based. if alcohol based use very light applications allowing them to fully evaporate first. I would not want to take any chance in hurting the glue bond between leather and paddle.

I have used alcohol based sprays on mine with no problem but just like to play it safe.
