DERBY 140g TUB + 5 DERBY BLADES

The postman brought this today from Best Shave In Turkey!
Looks like the folks at Derby are looking after the DE shavers in this world all for $3.59!

This is a great DE treat! The tub is super-cool and you get a pack of Derby blades in there too.
Just look at the name imprinted into the soap! Total class! This made my day I can tell you!

Yes, the Derby and the Arko are very similar in scent and I can't really tell the difference. They seem to be made by different manufacturers though.
Also from Turkey the Tweex stick which is very different to the first two and the GZD which is soft and smells nothing like the rest!

(Note: I just wanted to post more soap stick pictures!)

Interesting...I can't tell the difference between the Arko, Derby or Tweex once they've all had a chance to air out. I have a GZD waiting for redelivery at the post office, along with one of those Derby tubs and maybe something else (can't remember what I ordered!)

What material is the tub made from (looks kinda like cardboard?)

That is what I was thinking. It does look like coated cardboard, though -- might hold up to a couple weeks of daily use before it disintegrates and the puck would need to go into a large mug.

As the original poster stated - from bestshave.net

They are waxed card like disposable drink cups - the soap is meant to go into a scuttle or mug

I have thought about ordering some, but I really don't care for the arko scent so I don't know, of course at that price I can always just PIF it to someone if I don't like it.

Do the ingredients on the Derby stick appear to be the same as those on the tub?

I can't actually read them on the stick wrapper, can't even see them to be honest. It smells identical. The stick is 75g and the tub 140g. Derby is popular and I guess the marketing team decided to make it easier to lather producing a tub with almost double the soap. Then they throw in a 5 pack of blades and a lid to make more appealing. It's a budget soap dish in a way and if you use Derby this is a better idea I think and it looks great. How about an Arko tub now too. That would look fantastic I bet!

For the record Arko is easy to smush into a puck using a coffee mug and a large prescription bottle. Arko is just as great as a puck as it is as a stick (actually Arko is almost too soft to use as a stick IMO).
