Deep Fryer Recommendation

I just bought this Waring Pro Deep Fryer from Bed, Bath & Beyond. Is this a good fryer to buy? I have read reviews on amazon.com that say that the fryer does not hear up to 375 degrees crispy enough for French fries. What would all you experienced fryers, chefs and gourmet chefs suggest?
