DE89 vs. R41

So...if you had to choose between an Edwin Jagger DE89 (or the ivory-handled one) and a Muhle R41....which would you choose? I don't know if I prefer open combs, I've never had one.

I like an aggressive shave, which might tip it in Muhle's favor, but I keep hearing folks rave about the Jagger.

...and if this has already been posted ad infinitum, all apologies.

I like the Muhle R41 but of course I love open combs.

From experience the R41(2009 model) is beautiful and shaves very good however its surprisingly light weight. On the other hand the EJ89 is heavier and has a better head and the finish is flawless. Of course this is my opinion.

I had the same quandary last week and chose the R41, primarily because I wanted to try an open comb razor. I'll probably buy an EJ in the next few weeks but I'm glad I chose the R41 - the finish quality is superb, and it gives a great shave.
