damhans Voshkod PIF

Ok, I wanted to let the brotherhood of B&B'ers know about yet another kind act of generosity displayed to me from fellow B&B'er "damhans".
He sent me several different new DE packs of blades, as I mentioned to him that I have never tried the brands he talked about.

Out of the different DE blades sent, I have only tried Voshkod a few times so far, and have got to say that these blades rate among the best I have ever tried. They are on par with Astra SP's for me, which are my favorite. Has anybody else out there tried Voshkod blades? What were your results from using them?

I believe that every good turn deserves another, and that I too might be mentioned on B&B as someone that PIF'd something to someone that greatly appreciated it.

You're welcome. I'm glad they finally arrived, and before Boxing Day to boot!
It actually turned out to be decent little sample pack. Have fun trying them all.
Oh yeah, the Voskhods. They give me good shaves in my Super Speeds, and NEW. Though I don't get the longevity some folks do from them (2 maybe 3 shaves), and my R89 doesn't like them at all (go figure).

I've tried 2 different Russian blades and they were top notch. Haven't tried that one yet, but if they are anything like Astra SP, they're excellent.

Voskhods are definitely my favorite blades and I can get 5 shaves from one.

The Soviets used to manufacture some really nice electron vacuum tubes at a factory in Vokshod. Sorry I am deliberately mis-spelling it. I think the place sounds better that way.

Did they make tubes for guitar amps and things?

Voshkod right now is my go-to blade, three very comfortable smooth shaves, sometimes a fourth depending...and once my stock is depleted, it will be on to the Astra SP and the Gillette Blue or Yellow. Until then, the Voshkod and I are BFF.
