Damascuc w/etched twin snakes???

I was out pick'n today and ran into a str8 with an etching of the word Damascus wrapped with twin snakes. It had a tin or metal scale which looks to have originally been horribly copper plated. No other markings. The blade looked stainless, not the swirly damascus i've seen. Anyone run across this before or know the mft??? Sorry no pic. He was asking $10. Blade looked okay, but not willing to risk it on a knock off. Any ideas??? Thanks

Could always go back. Besides today i picked up 5/8 golden hess 44 and what appears to be a nos double arrow 66. I've been iso a black D.A. for almost 3mo now to use as a daily shaver. I dislike the newer gold dollar etching. Best Part!!! Bless his heart the prior decease owner kept them protected with light coat oil. Looks brand new!
