Da Vinci 293 Review

Didn't have time to write a full review... but I wanted to write a short one. First off I want to thank the Turtle... he recommended this amazing brush to me. When I first bought it I was like.... oh I don't know if I did the right thing... cause I was worried about the lack of reviews on it... but I trust the Turtle as I imagine he has tried every brush ever created! The brush lathers like a monster! The quality of the lather is a whole nother story! The density of the brush is amazing as well! I must say this is one awesome brush... did I say that already? LOL If anyone is looking for a amazing and luxurious brush look no further. I don't know why there hasn't been more talk about this brush. The handle fits perfectly in the hand, and is great for bowl lathering as your fingers protect it from clanging. I never knew a brush can be so luxurious. I recently bought the Muhle Silvertip brush and was somewhat disappointed, due to me trying to figure out how to get it to work as its been picky with me... but the Da Vinci... acouple of swirls and got foam coming out of everywhere. Think I am just going to throw out all my other brushes! Nothing compares! Thanks Turtle you ROCK! :thumbup1:

Heavens...don't throw your brushes out! Send them to me for proper disposal... A Muhle Silvertip you say?? All kidding aside though, the Turtle always has good advice...

I would add my thanks to Turtle for his review of the brush and especially the link he provided to the brush for sale at $85.00 shipped.
I used the Da Vinci 293 in my DB Scuttle this morning, it is an outstanding combination.

yea I have a 1.5 DB scuttle, and it just lathers up effortlessly. Perfect combo. I read a review on another shave board, I want say which one, but they claimed that the handle gave them some kind of hand injury while lathering. I have not experienced this.

Also I read someone said that a Thater Brush is softer than the da Vinci? Would you say thats true Turtle?

I will post some pictures when I get extra time

I'm no Turtle, but I do own two Thaters (two and three band) and I would say yes, both of my Thaters are softer.

Wow, I didn't know it can get even more softer than Da Vinci! Do you recommend them over the Da Vinci in your experience?

No, I would not. I've only had the Da Vinci a few days, I need more time to make that kind of determination. The brush will get softer with use, at least it should.

However, the Thater Silvertip (3-band) is the softest brush I own and, between my Thater brushes, I prefer the Thater 2 band at this time.

Pictures as promised :biggrin1: Looks better in person in my opinion pictures don't do this brush justice.
