D.R. Harris Shaving Soap and aftershave

I'm thinking to buy one DR Harris soap and aftershave to use it in this summer.

My first idea was Arlington shaving soap and Arlington aftershave to have equal esence.

But in the review section, the best Dr Harris aftershave is the sandalwood so I don´t know what soap essence will combine great with it.

My question what do you think?
Arlington shaving soap and aftershave?
Sandalwood aftershave and what soap?
I know, buy both but this isn't an option

Regards

Both the Arlington and Marlborough soap and the aftershave get lots of play on the boards and make a fine summer combo. Do a search for arlington and you'll get lots of threads.

Why not get the Arlington and join our "Jularlington" celebration??

I don't have any specific experience with either of the aftershaves you mentioned, but I've already tried the Arlington soap and various other brands of sandalwood ... I'd say that Arlington is great for the summer, and generally sandalwood is more for the cooler half of the year. That's a personal preference thing, obviously, but IMHO sandalwood is better for the winter than summer.

Arlington all the way...been using them both together for 10+ years. Marlborough is nice, Sandalwood is nice but Arlington beats them both. You won't be disappointed.

Hi,

Arlington was my first idea and many of you recommend it, so I have a winner.

Next week I will order it.

Thank you!

It's summer right now on the southern hemisphere, and I'm liking the arlington soap+aftershave+cologne combo so much that I use it every day!

I tried a Harris cream last year and didn't like it. However I have been following the Harris Arlington soap threads recently and I have had one sitting in a shopping cart since Monday. It's just a matter of days until I finalize the order.

I've had both the Arlington soap and cream. Not liking the cream won't necessarily mean you won't like the soap. The scent is much better in the soap and the soap is one of the best performers out there, IMHO.

There is no universal best. Best is whatever you prefer and/or suits you best -- YMMV always applies around here.

DRH sandalwood is my personal favorite and I use Marlborough soap with it.

What you end up with is your decision to make. What scents do you prefer?

(Didn't realize that this thread was so old when I replied -- oh well, still applies)

good choice?
We can't tell you. Your experience with it will answer your question. Again, YMMV. Otherwise everyone would use the same soap.

I used a puck of Arlington last summer with a selection of citrus colognes and really enjoyed it.

Just recently I have been using a puck of Marlborough with DRH Sandalwood AS and it has been wonderful as well.

Is there any chance Arlington can burn the face when it is re-lathered on the face for the 2nd and 3rd pass? Because when I think citrus...I think about getting lemon juice in a cut on the finger and it burning. That is the only reason I have been a bit reluctant to try this soap (I have sensitive skin). Am I totally wrong on this?

I really like the Marlborough lineup. The spicy cedarwood scent fits perfectly for winter. I will probably try the Arlington at some point, but I have too many products right now.
