What's new

D.R. Harris Sandalwood

This is my latest purchase and like it so much I'm going to order another bottle straight away.:thumbup1: I have alot of aftershaves that do very good things to my face after shaving, but for scent alone this tops the lot of them. Saying that this leaves my face looking and feeling great as well. I think im in a sandalwood zone at the moment anyway as I just got two sandalwood soaps as well (taylors & trumpers), and can't get enough of it. Move over my old friend musgo, you're number 2 now!

I just picked up a bottle of Harris Sandalwood from West Coast Shaving this week. I hadn't had any of this stuff in my cabinet for a few years and boy was I missing out. I've used it every day this week. I love the scent and it lingers on me for a good part of the day. :thumbup1:

Musgo has less burn and probably more stuff in it that is good for your face (newer Musgo formulation has aloe and witch hazel) but yes, there is room in a shave cabinet for both of these top smelling and top performing aftershaves!

I have just ordered a bottle of Sandalwood along with Pink to match up with some shave creams that I have. Looking forward to trying them out soon!

If you like the scent of D R Harris Sandalwood AS, then you will like the scent of Green Pond shaving cream, which is a very close match. I stongly suspect that this cream is made according to a D R Harris formula. Even the tub it comes in has "D R Harris & Co. Ltd." embossed on the bottom. Also, it's a very good shaving cream.

It's actually made by D.R. Harris, via Creightons. (At least it used to be via Creightons. I've heard rumblings that Harris isn't using Creightons any more.) Green Pond contracts with Harris to provide it for them. I have the Green Pond cream, but I've never smelled the Harris sandalwood a/s. I'm curious to learn they're similar in scent.

Green Pond also used to offer an unscented version of the Harris aftershaving millk under its own label. Unfortunately, they discontinued it when Harris changed the formula a few years back.
