Custom Mitchell Classic Briefcase

Hey all,

First off, I must say, you are all the most amazing enablers I hav ever encountered. Two months ago, I had never even heard of Mitchell Leather, now I am getting ready to order a briefcase from them. I blame two members in particular, Joel and SRock. Thank you gentlemen!

Now, on to thoughts for how I want mine!

I'm not one for black leather briefcases, and the one I've been toting for the last three years is brown with brushed brass fittings. I browsed the Mitchell site, and I found their Rustic Ranch leather which is exactly what I want.

I'll want it to have an iPad pocket, and nickel fittings.

That's where I'm at now. I'm communicating with Dave, and we will see what I end up with!

So, having emailed a bit more with Dave (what a guy, by the way, gotta love how he handles his customers), here's what I'm looking at:

Model: Classic Briefcase w/iPad pocket
Exterior: Rustic Ranch
Interior: Light brown
Hardware: Polished Nickel
Stitching: Light cream/beige
Logo: Small, centered between the straps

Egads, I wish I was going to the US sometime soon. I'd love to be able to pick it up myself.

They look really nice with a price to match. Good thing I don't need a brief case they aren't that far away.

Awesome! Congrats.

Interesting that you started this thread today as I've also decided to purchase a Mitchell bag. My $25 ebay special died last week after 6 years and time to get a bag that I can carry for the rest of my career (I'm only 42). I'm a huge fan of horween leather and this is just a perfect combination for me. I won't litter your thread with my details, but rest assured there will be photos once it arrives.

And it has been ordered, the deposit paid, and my god, I am looking forward to having it in my hands.

To quote the great philospher Tom Petty, "The waiting is the hardest part"

Can't wait to see pictures and read a review of the bag. Even though you're in Norway, thanks for buying American :thumbup1:
. It's great to see that craftsmanship is still alive and well in the USA.

Well, with those delightful briefcases, how could I not?

I'm in total agreement, I've just purchased my third Mitchell Briefcase (my second one was stolen 4 months after I received it) and expect it soon. I didn't feel that I had enough time with my second briefcase to be able to give it a full review, but hope to clutch to the new briefcase long enough to give it a full evaluation. My first Mitchell (the classic, light brown) is a great briefcase that I've come to really enjoy.

A word about the cost and the service. I feel that if you're wanting a normal bag/briefcase then the price of a Mitchell bag may be a bit high, but if you're looking for someone to provide you with invaluable customer service, information and a great product, you'd do well to lug around a backpack til you saved up for a Mitchell. Dave has helped guide me with just about every aspect of my briefcase and provided attention to detail. It feels like a tailor for your carrying needs. :)

I have been on the lookout for other briefcases, I just don't think I've really seen any that I've preferred. Not to say that Saddle Back and the others aren't as great, but I think anyone would appreciate a "from scratch", US made, work of art.

Hope you enjoy your briefcase!

You just entered the League of Extra Ordinary Enablers yourself, my friend!
I never heard of Mitchell, and now guess who is looking at his shopping cart...

I got word a couple of days ago that they have started production on my briefcase, and will be sending me some photos. I will, of course, upload them here in due course.

I for one can't wait to see the briefcase in production. I would really like to own one personally.
